ADÉLA Releases "Ain't in LA" as Closing Track of Debut Album PRIMA

ADÉLA is giving fans a glimpse into her highly anticipated debut album with the release of "Ain't in LA," a new track that serves as the record's closing number.

The 22-year-old former Dream Academy contestant dropped the song ahead of PRIMA's September 4 arrival, which is available for pre-order now. Director Fred Gervais helmed the accompanying visual, which was filmed in ADÉLA's native Bratislava.

The track emerged from a deeply personal place. During a visit home, ADÉLA came across photographs of her mother at age 18 standing before a wall covered in pop culture imagery. Her grandfather had smuggled those posters in from Germany years earlier—a detail that sparked the creative process.

"There are so many beautiful girls with dreams who will never get their flowers like my mom," ADÉLA shared in a statement. "I wrote this for her and the billion other bitches who are probably cooler than me."

The song's central message challenges the notion that success and talent are concentrated in one place, with ADÉLA declaring that "the baddest bitches ain't in L.A." on the track.

ADÉLA recently performed the song live while opening for Demi Lovato on tour, offering fans additional context during the performance. "I moved to LA four years ago, but I'm originally from Slovakia, which is, like, a really tiny country in central Europe," she explained in remarks captured by fans. "I really love living in LA; I actually think it's a really great place, and I have amazing friends here and a home here. But I wrote this next song thinking about how LA is what it is because of all the immigrants, just like myself, and all the transplants from all the other states too in the US."

About the Debut Album

ADÉLA has described PRIMA as a reflection of her current moment in life. "I want this album to sound exactly like a 22-year-old girl," she stated. "I tried to express both sides. I mixed the hard with the soft, the vulnerable with the swag of it all, the muscular beats with the feminine energy. I did exactly what I wanted to."

The album title carries significant meaning for the artist. "PRIMA means 'first,' which is perfect since this is my debut," she explained. "Being a prima ballerina means you're the top dog or the best ballerina in the house. It's a term of endearment in the ballerina community. I'm trying to be the prima ballerina of pop, and this is my first step to achieve that."
